Matcha – Japanese

Japanese tea ceremony. Fine green tea powder. Made from the youngest shade-grown leaves. Produces a sweet grassy flavor. Best when mixed with milk, almond milk, coconut milk or soy milk. Rich in vitamins (A, B-complex, C, E, and K) and antioxidants. Natural source of dietary fiber. Great hot or iced, alone or blended with the milk of your choice. It’s also a great addition to sweets and baked goods.

Ingredients: organic green tea

Brewing instructions: 1/2 – 1 tsp / 8 oz water / 175°F / 2-3 minutes
Matcha is “brewed” a little different from the rest of the teas.  The longer it steeps the “grassier” the flavor.  And the entire leaf is consumed, it is NOT STRAINED off.  Our personal favorite way to enjoy Matcha is either as a Latté or iced with just a touch of lavender and vanilla flavorings/extracts.  Once it is iced it will stop “steeping”.

Double the amount of tea leaves for iced tea
